Since 1963, Hill Field Elementary has served the families of Hill Air Force Base and surrounding areas. With a strong connection to the military, the school’s culture has long been shaped by patriotism, service and a deep sense of community.

These photos highlight just a few moments from Hill Field’s past—flag ceremonies, school events and gatherings.

Yesterday, Davis School District officially welcomed our incredible new educators with an orientation held at Farmington High School.

From a high-energy entrance with student leaders and the Farmington High drumline to a powerful plenary session with Superintendent Dr. Dan Linford, Board President Brigit Gerrard and veteran educators Allison Riddle and Becky Vervloet—this day was all about inspiration and preparation.

Educators connected in breakout sessions by grade level and subject, learned about essential district resources at the Discover Davis Expo Hall and enjoyed lunch as they began forming strong professional networks.

We're honored these passionate individuals chose to start their next chapter in Davis.

While most were still sleeping Friday morning, volunteers, teachers and administrators from across Davis School District gathered at three Kohl’s stores to make a difference.

Through the Davis Education Foundation’s annual Child Spree, 502 students in need received new clothes, shoes and school supplies—just in time for the new school year.

This event isn’t just about shopping; it’s about helping students feel prepared, valued and ready to learn.

Thank you to our incredible community of donors and sponsors—including America First Credit Union, Lifetime, Marathon Oil, Holy Cross Hospital Davis, Waste Management and many individuals—for helping us put every student first.

Valley View Elementary’s HOPE Squad is spreading warmth—literally.

With help from counselor Katie DeGroot and teachers Sherilynne McKee and Sherry Bronson, during the school year have tied blankets for local hospitals and shelters. So much fabric was donated.

These students are learning just how powerful kindness can be—and they’ve loved every minute of it.

At Oak Hills Elementary, there’s something in the halls that feels a little extra special—and it might just be the generations of connection.

This past year, students learned that some of their teachers once walked these same halls as students.

Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Clark and 5th grade teacher Ms. Bell both attended Oak Hills as kids.

Mrs. Quist’s husband was once a student here, too.

And 4th grade teacher Mrs. Martinez? Her husband and mother-in-law both went to Oak Hills—and she even shared a photo of their 4th grade class from way back when.

For so many at Oak Hills, it’s more than just a school. It’s a place you return to. A place that feels like home.

In the center of West Point Elementary is a longtime favorite among students—a large fish tank.

Though no one remembers exactly when it was installed, the tank remains a daily source of interest and conversation. Students enjoy naming the fish—often giving each one more than one name—and watching them during breaks.

It’s a simple feature, but one that adds a memorable and calming element to the school environment.

Before school let out, students and staff at Cook Elementary pulled off a surprise “Dress Like Mr. Hughes Day” to celebrate their beloved principal’s retirement. From button-downs to glasses, the halls were full of heartfelt impersonations and laughter.

Because while learning was always the priority, Cook knew how to make room for fun, connection and lasting memories.

This fall, the school will welcome Mrs. Elizabeth Jensen as the new principal. But no matter who’s at the helm…

Once a Cougar, Always a Cougar.

West Point Junior High was recently buzzing with energy during LIA’s Cultural Night.

Students from LIA, MAC and SBO shared posters about their interests, families and heritage—while guests snacked on Mexican, Polynesian and Chinese treats.

Highlights included dances from Puerto Rico and American Samoa, a violin solo, a tumbling routine and a group performance by LIA students.

At Foxboro Elementary, Tuesdays are for music, memories and a little friendly competition.

Each week, students across the school would tune in for “Name That Tune” Tuesday. A song plays over the intercom, and the challenge begins: Be the correct caller with the song title and artist, and your class wins.

The prize? Foxboro’s beloved “Golden Guitar” trophy. The winning class keeps it for the week, adds their teacher’s name and contributes a small artifact that represents their class.

It’s a fun tradition that strikes a chord with students and celebrates school spirit—one song at a time.

We’re shining our School Summer Spotlight on Farmington High!

Farmington High School girls’ lacrosse team won the 6A state championship this past May—the first lacrosse title ever earned by a school in the Davis School District.

This victory is more than a milestone. It’s the result of hard work, teamwork and the relentless determination of a team that believed in itself.

Congratulations to the Phoenix on making district history and bringing home the championship!

Davis Adult Ed's ESL students are taking bold steps toward their futures.

Advanced ESL students recently completed a real-world project on job readiness, finishing with mock interviews hosted by the Utah State Board of Education’s Adult Ed team.

“I had a job interview for a promotion at work, and I was more prepared—and I got the promotion," one student said.

Thanks to our USBE partners and these amazing students for showing what growth and courage look like.

Some stories come full circle—and that’s exactly what happened at Doxey Elementary. Zach, a former Doxey student, is now back at the school—this time as a staff member helping with recess duty. In a fun twist, he recently wore the same green T-shirt he had on in an old photo from his time as a student here. His connection to Doxey runs even deeper. His mom, DeAnn, still teaches humanities at the school, continuing her longtime role in shaping young learners. From student to staff member, Doxey is a place where community and connection carry across generations. #SummerHighlights #DoxeyElementary #Every1DSD #FullCircle #DavisFamilySchools

Earlier this year, second- and third-grade Spanish immersion students at Buffalo Point Elementary showcased their skills in a performance families won’t soon forget. During their physical education prep time, students learned traditional Latin dances from a variety of countries and rehearsed two songs sung entirely in Spanish. The event, led by teachers Estephanie Maiava and Gisella Woods, brought together movement, music and language in a joyful display of global learning. #Every1DSD #BuffaloPointElementary #SpanishImmersion #CulturalCelebration #LanguageLearning
