Students at Shoreline Junior High collected more than 200 new and gently used Halloween costumes for Lincoln Elementary in Layton.
The idea came from ninth-grader Laurel, who was inspired after volunteering at the district’s annual Child Spree event, where she shopped for a student whose biggest wish was a Halloween costume. With help from her mother, classmates and the school’s National Junior Honor Society, Laurel organized a costume drive to make sure every child could join in the Halloween fun.
Principal David Pendergast believes the donation will make a big difference for his students.
“Having a costume helps everyone feel included and part of the community,” Pendergast said “We’re so appreciative of the Shoreline students for their generosity.”
